Benefits

How it works

Rutin's antioxidant activity involves scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS). Its anti-inflammatory effects stem from modulating cytokine production and inhibiting NF-κB signaling. It also enhances endogenous antioxidant enzymes like SOD, CAT, and GPx. In the cardiovascular system, it improves endothelial function and reduces blood pressure. In the gastrointestinal system, it protects mucosal integrity in colitis. In the liver, kidney, and heart, it reduces oxidative stress and apoptosis. Rutin is metabolized to quercetin and other metabolites, contributing to its biological effects.
