Based on Examine, Wikipedia, and 23 other sources

Overview

Real Krill provides a source of omega-3 fatty acids, including EPA and DHA, along with phospholipids and astaxanthin. While krill oil may offer improved bioavailability of omega-3s compared to fish oil, the doses of EPA and DHA are modest and may not provide optimal cardiovascular benefits. Though the product claims to support a variety of health functions like brain health, circulation and joint health, more specific research is needed to validate these. The astaxanthin content is also low, and its effects are not well-established at this dosage. Overall, the product may provide general omega-3 benefits, but its effectiveness for therapeutic purposes is uncertain.

The Good

May have enhanced bioavailability of omega-3 fatty acids due to the phospholipid content.

Contains multiple beneficial compounds such as EPA, DHA and astaxanthin.

May offer some support for mood management and blood lipid support at higher dosages.

The Bad

May cause mild gastrointestinal side effects including fishy aftertaste or burps.

Potential for increased bleeding risk, especially for individuals on anticoagulant medications.

Not suitable for individuals with seafood allergies.

Is it for you?

Best For: Individuals seeking omega-3 fatty acids, those looking to support heart, brain, and joint health, people preferring krill oil over fish oil

Skip If: Pregnant, lactating, or taking blood-thinning medications without consulting a physician.
