Overview

This product is a whole-fish oil supplement providing a range of omega fatty acids, Vitamin D3 and astaxanthin. It is designed to provide general health benefits, especially supporting cardiovascular health and reducing inflammation. The inclusion of Vitamin D3 is beneficial. However, compared to non 'whole' fish oils, the amounts of key components like EPA and DHA are low, and there are a large number of fatty acids where the benefits are not clear. The astaxanthin is at very low levels (5mcg), unlikely to be of practical benefit.

The Good

Provides a range of omega fatty acids from whole fish oil.

Includes Vitamin D3, an important nutrient often deficient.

Contains astaxanthin, a potent antioxidant though in a very small dose.

The Bad

Potential gastrointestinal side effects.

Fishy aftertaste may occur.

May increase bleeding risk, especially for those on anticoagulants.

Is it for you?

Best For: Individuals seeking a whole-food Omega-3 source, general cardiovascular health, brain health, joint support

Skip If: You have a fish allergy, are on blood thinners without consulting a doctor, or require very high doses of EPA/DHA.
