Overview

The Douglas Laboratories Bone Health Pack offers a very wide array of vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive compounds. While many individual ingredients are backed by science for their respective benefits, the sheer number of components, combined with the presence of a 'Proprietary Blend' where specific dosages are undisclosed, makes it difficult to ascertain the effectiveness of many ingredients at their listed amounts. Key bone health ingredients like Calcium (1000mg) and Magnesium (625mg) are present at effective doses, though Vitamin D3 (1400 IU) is on the lower side of optimal for bone health and general health, especially for those with insufficient sun exposure. The inclusion of Vitamin K-1 (100mcg) is good for bone health. Many other ingredients, particularly the numerous plant extracts and amino acids, appear to be present in amounts that are likely sub-optimal for therapeutic effect.

The Good

Comprehensive nutrient profile for broad nutritional support.

Contains effective doses of Calcium and Magnesium for bone health.

Includes synergistic nutrients for bone health (Vitamin D3, K-1).

The Bad

Vitamin D3 dose (1400 IU) is suboptimal for many individuals, especially those with deficiency.

Proprietary blend makes it impossible to verify effective dosing for many ingredients.

Many included ingredients likely appear in sub-therapeutic doses.

Is it for you?

Best For: Individuals concerned with bone health, post-menopausal women, those with Vitamin D deficiency

Skip If: You have hypercalcemia or a known allergy to any ingredients
